The Cud Life Camping Terms & Conditions

The Cud Life Campsite is a small family-run, certified location and to ensure the enjoyment of all our campers and holiday cottage guests it is essential that we have some rules.

Please read the following carefully as making a booking with us is in on the understanding that these terms and conditions ARE AGREED and accepted by you.

Any behaviour deemed as being disrespectful to other campers OR our holiday cottage guests will result in removal from the campsite; there are no warnings or exceptions, if you can’t comply with our simple rules please do not book to stay at The Cud Life!

(Only nice people who have respect for other people, please!)

  • Be respectful to other campers and your surroundings - This used to be our only rule but some people have made us have to explain what this means in further detail. If you are someone that understands this without explanation, we are delighted and look forward to welcoming you!

  • Ensure everyone gets a restful night with no noise after 10.30pm - This includes music, loud talking/shouting/laughing (remember this is louder than you think when you have had a drink!). It is really important to us that everyone gets a good nights sleep so that they can make the most of their days here in beautiful North Yorkshire and as our house and holiday cottages overlook the campsite we would all like our sleep too – no one likes an angry farmer with no sleep!

  • For the enjoyment and safety of our campers and caravaners.  Individual Firepits are not permitted but we provide seasoned, untreated wood for a communal firepit in the centre of the campsite on a Saturday night (weather permitting).

  • BBQs over 50cm can be used anywhere and those under can be used in the central area.

  • We will endeavour to leave wood for our Kadai (fire pit) every Saturday night, weather permitting and providing we are happy that it will be treated with respect.

  • Smoking is not permitted in or around the toilet block and cigarette ends to be disposed of appropriately.

  • Children must be supervised at all times - This is a working farm and there are many dangers. For obvious reasons it is essential that children are not allowed to roam free away from the camping field, around the fire area or toilet block unsupervised. However, we are very family-friendly and are even happy to give a little tour of the farm by arrangement if we are available and we welcome families here to enjoy themselves safely we just ask for your cooperation.

  • Dogs must be on leads, pick up after them and do not allow them to be a nuisance - It is essential that all dog fouling is picked up due to the harm it can cause cattle and that dogs are kept on a lead at ALL TIMES. We have long leads available if required to borrow.  Excessive barking is not acceptable and dogs must not be left unattended for this reason but please ask us as we may be able to accommodate dogs in emergencies.

  • Rubbish, Recycling and Electricity – We would appreciate your cooperation in not leaving anything other than general food and domestic waste (we were left a vacuum cleaner on our first weekend!). Recycling is to be placed in designated bins and all other rubbish bagged before putting in the wheelie bins. Please use the electricity, hot water and toilets with care and try not to be wasteful. The use of electric is monitored on each pitch – especially heating awnings overnight!

  • Enjoy your stay! The whole reason we have the rules above is for our final rule which is for all of our campers and caravanners to enjoy their stay!
